Deadly shooting in Riviera Beach, police speaking with a man involved

A man was shot and killed in Riviera Beach late Wednesday night.

The Riviera Beach Police Department (RBPD) said at 11:12 p.m., its ShotSpotter system detected multiple gunshots along West Blue Heron Boulevard. After responding to the scene, officers found a man lying in the intersection of Avenue E and West Blue Heron Boulevard.

Upon further inspection, officers discovered the man had been shot several times. Police said the man was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center for emergency care, but despite the efforts of the medical staff, the man succumbed to his injuries.

Police said during the investigation, a man at the scene spoke to officers acknowledging his involvement in the incident.

This is an active investigation, the RBPD said.
