DeFuniak Springs man arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle, fleeing police

A DeFuniak Springs man was arrested after crashing a stolen vehicle in Mossy Head.

According to a news release, 32-year-old Dillon Grimes was spotted at Love’s Travel Stop driving a stolen car out of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.

Deputies said they caught up with Grimes and attempted a traffic stop near Walden Road and Highway 90. However, Grimes fled the scene at high speed and crashed the vehicle near East Larkspur, officials wrote.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit, Walton and Okaloosa Correctional, and Florida Highway Patrol K-9 teams responded to assist.

At the time of the incident, officials said Grimes also had active warrants for manufacturing methamphetamine.

Grimes was arrested and transported to the Walton County Jail, additional charges are pending.
