A 54-year-old DeFuniak Springs man is dead after a crash in Walton County on Sunday, according to FHP.
Troopers say the incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. when a 55-year-old DeFuniak Springs man was traveling southbound on CR-280 in an SUV.
The SUV driver traveled onto the west shoulder and continued southbound.
The SUV struck a utility pole and a tree, according to FHP.
The SUV driver was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The 54-year-old passenger was pronounced deceased on the scene.
