It rained over the balloons, flowers, and cards that marked a growing memorial on Saturday morning in Davie. It was a tribute to the 32-year-old victim of a hit-and-run crash along Flamingo Road, just south of the 595 Expressway.
Lori Koons had been in tears there. She was inconsolable when she said her partner Nicole Bobb had slept over her place and 30 minutes later she was dead on Friday morning. Detectives had yet to release any information about a suspect in the fatal hit-and-run crash.
A driver had struck Bobb about a month ago on Flamingo Road in Davie. She survived. Police officers found her dead in the same area Friday. Koons said Bobb, who was a friend for 15 years and a partner for 5 months, was on her way to the home she shared with a roommate.
Bobb’s adoptive parents, Elizabeth and Jeff Bobb, hope the driver who killed her and fled surrenders to police officers.
“We are just in shock that someone would hit her and leave her lying in the middle of the road,” the grieving mother said.
Detectives asked anyone with information to call the Davie Police Department at 954-693-8200 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
