A driver has died after he crashed his car into a concrete barrier wall on the Palmetto Expressway, authorities confirmed Sunday morning.
According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho, the crash occurred at about 3 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway near Southwest Eighth Street.
Camacho said the victim was driving a Honda sedan when he crashed his car.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.
Camacho said southbound lanes on the Palmetto Expressway were shut down for about three hours during the preliminary investigation.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
