Driver ejected from vehicle dies after striking tree in overnight crash: Florida Highway Patrol

A driver is dead after the Florida Highway Patrol said he got ejected from his vehicle after colliding with a tree overnight.

At 2:08 a.m., a 41-year-old Homosassa man in a Chevy Corvette was traveling south on CR-491, just north of West Fennessy Lane in Lecanto.

According to FHP, the collision resulted in the vehicle flipping, which caused him to be ejected from the driver’s seat.

The man died at the scene of the crash.
