A deadly crash shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 Wednesday morning before the Golden Glades Interchange, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision happened at around 4:10 a.m., when the driver of a white Honda drove off the roadway and into the center median, where it collided into an excavator, FHP said.
Authorities said the driver, a man, died at the scene. His name and age were not immediately revealed.
Video of the scene shows emergency crews working around the heavily damaged sedan, as officers diverted traffic onto State Road 7.
All lanes except one have since reopened.
Drivers were advised to take U.S. 441 and Northwest 27th Avenue as alternate routes.
