A 22-year-old Orlando man was killed after the car he was driving crashed into a pole in Orange County on Saturday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened at Pine Hills Road near Dolores Drive around 1:23 p.m.
According to a crash report, an Infiniti Q50 was traveling south on Pine Hills Road, approaching Dolores Drive in the inside lane.
Troopers said the vehicle was traveling above the posted speed limit when the driver lost control and ran off of the road to the right. As a result, the sedan crashed into a concrete pole on the west shoulder of Pine Hills Road.
The driver and a 22-year-old passenger were taken to ORMC with life-threatening injuries, according to the report.
Troopers said the driver was pronounce dead at the hospital and the passenger was last listed in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
