A man from Pompano Beach received a state prison sentence for a hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist from Boca Raton.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) said on April 29, 2023, at around 5:38 a.m., Samuel Carvalho Vasconcelloswas driving his Chevrolet Malibu on SW 18th Street.

The sheriff’s office said an arrest warrant was issued for Vasconcellos and he was arrested on May 9. On August 29, Vasconcellos was found guilty of leaving the scene of a crash involving death and sentenced to four years in state prison, PBSO said.
