The Florida Highway Patrol arrested a suspect after a pursuit on US-19 Monday morning.
According to FHP, the suspect, a 32-year-old Port Richey man, was driving recklessly on US-19 going southbound. During the pursuit, the suspect sideswiped multiple vehicles and drove southbound in the northbound lane of US-19.
The pursuit was called off due to losing sight of the vehicle at US-19 and Sunray Drive.
Shortly after losing sight of the vehicle, troopers got reports that the suspect crashed on US-19 near Flora Avenue, according to the FHP.
Troopers said after the suspect crashed, he ran away but was quickly taken into custody and booked into the Pasco County Jail with the help of witnesses and Pasco County deputies.
