Driver who ran red light dies after striking vehicle in Bradenton

 A driver who ran a red light at a Manatee County intersection died after striking another vehicle on Sunday.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 48-year-old Bradenton woman was traveling westbound on 30th Avenue East, approaching the light at US-41.

At the same time, a 27-year-old Holiday man was heading north on US-41 approaching the intersection of US-41.

Officials said the woman ran the red light and struck the passenger side of the man’s vehicle.

The woman died at the scene of the crash, while the man was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries.

This crash remains under investigation.
