A 72-year-old man has died after crashing into construction cones in West Palm Beach.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) stated that on Wednesday morning at around 5:15 a.m., a man was driving westbound on Southern Boulevard in the outside lane of the Palm Beach International Airport.
The traffic report stated that the outside lane was closed due to maintenance, and traffic cones were used to advise drivers to avoid the lane.
It was noted that the man didn’t see the closed lane and continued to drive into two orange traffic cones.
The man allegedly swerved his car to the left, causing it to rotate across the westbound lanes of Southern Boulevard.
The vehicle then collided on top of the median, and the passenger side of his car hit a tree, the report stated.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue pronounced the man dead on the scene.
