Elderly man claims roommate stabbed him over ‘bugs in the home,’ Boynton Beach PD says

An elderly Boynton Beach man told deputies his roommate punched and stabbed him during a dispute over bugs in their apartment.

Upon arrival, deputies reported that the victim explained his roommate, JD-V, began arguing with him over ‘bugs in the home.’

Arrest records state that over the course of the argument, D-V punched him in the face before pulling out a kitchen knife and stabbing him in the stomach, leaving visible lacerations.

Following the altercation, he fled the home on a bicycle before deputies arrived, according to the PBSO.

PBSO said they were able to catch up with the suspect at the intersection of Old Boynton Road and Lawrence Road, where he was found in possession of two pocket knives.

Officers say that when questioned about the incident, D-V said that he was not in a fight and that he did it because he couldn’t pay rent.

D-V was apprehended on alleged battery on persons 65 years of age or older and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to PBSO records.
