An elderly man was killed in a tragic incident near his home in Terra Ceia Tuesday.
Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Kenn Watson tells ABC7 that the incident happened at a home on Bayshore Drive near Liles Street.
According to investigators, a 17-year-old girl was backing out of a private driveway there and her grandfather was in the driveway taking his trash out. The driver was backing up when she collided with her grandfather.
He was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate the crash.
