Elderly woman dies in hit-and-run, South Florida deputies seek light blue Range Rover SUV

An elderly woman was killed in a hit-and-run and left for dead on the side of the road, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BSO).

According to BSO, the deadly hit-and-run occurred on Wednesday at around 7:57 p.m., near North Powerline Road in Oakland Park. Through investigative means, deputies found BP, 80, was crossing the street outside the designated crosswalk when she was suddenly struck by a vehicle that fled the area. The impact was so strong, that Price was thrown off the roadway.

Deputies were able to identify the vehicle as a light blue 2005 or 2009 Land Range Rover Sport SUV.

Oakland Park Fire Rescue responded and pronounced P dead at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Traffic Homicide Detective Mike Wiley at 954-321-4841. Those who wish to remain anonymous can submit a tip to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.

Those who provide a tip that lead to a successful arrest are eligible for $10,000 reward.
