Two people were taken to the hospital after being trapped in a single-vehicle crash on Monday.

Responders say the incident occurred at 6:29 p.m. when Escambia County Fire Rescue units responded to a motor vehicle crash requiring extrication at the intersection of N. Old Corry Field Road and Lillian Highway.

Upon arrival, Firefighters performed a side-out operation on the driver’s side of the vehicle, using hydraulic extrication equipment to remove the driver’s side and the roof to access the driver.

Once freed, both occupants were transported to area hospitals by Escambia County EMS.

Escambia County EMS and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
