Fairhope woman critically injured in fiery single-vehicle crash in Escambia County

A 22-year-old Fairhope woman has critical injuries after a single-vehicle collision in Escambia County on Sunday night.

Troopers say the incident occurred around 8:41 pm when a gray Nissan SUV on US-29 north of Highway 164 in McDavid.

The SUV became engulfed in flames shortly after, according to FHP.

Troopers say the woman was extricated from the SUV and airlifted to the hospital for her injuries. She was the only person in the SUV.

The investigation is still ongoing.
