Martin County Sheriff’s Office and Martin County Fire Rescue personnel responded to a fire on Monday afternoon.
The fire was located at the 2300 block of NE Tropical Way in Jensen Beach.
Martin County Fire Rescue said it responded to the incident just before 1 p.m. and when its crews arrived at the scene, they discovered a single-story duplex that had a fire spread significantly throughout the structure.
Fire rescue said it began its attack on the fire and searched the building to make sure all occupants were safely out.
An initial assessment determined the two units were severely damaged and likely a total loss.
No one was injured, a family was displaced, and a cat has not been found.
The Florida State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
