Florida Highway Patrol say they are investigating a low-speed vehicle crash on Highway 98 on Tuesday.
According to FHP at 11:22 p.m. a properly equipped 2024 LSV rental golf cart was traveling west on US 98 in the outside lane while a car was also traveling west on US 98 in the inside lane, just behind the LSV.
The driver of the LSV, a16-year-old, with a valid Missouri driver license attempted an abrupt left turn in front of the car. The car attempted to brake and steer out of the way.
The LSV driver and the other three passenger had minor injuries and refused medical treatment. They were possibly taken to the hospital by family on scene.
The golf cart was towed.
The driver of the LSV was cited for improper turn which troopers say caused the crash.
The FHP was unable to prove or disprove the golf cart had any headlights activated during the crash due to conflicting statements and no other witnesses at the scene.
