A Lake City man was killed, while two other men were seriously injured in a crash on County Road 245 in Columbia County early Monday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said that at 6:50 a.m., the 35-year-old Lake City man was traveling south on County Road 245 near Southeast Robert Cox Terrace when his vehicle traveled into the northbound lanes and hit a sedan and pickup truck.
According to the FHP crash report, the Lake City man was “negotiating a right curve in the road” when he entered the northbound lanes.
Troopers said the collision caused the sedan, which was driven by a 37-year-old Lake Butler man, to end up in a ditch.
The report states the Lake City man was not wearing a seatbelt, nor was the Lake Butler man.
The Lake City man was pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said. The Lake Butler man and the driver of the pickup truck, a 64-year-old Lake City man, were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, the report states.
