The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-car collision that resulted in two dead in Holmes County on Friday.
According to a news release, the incident happened at 7:45 a.m. on State Road 10.
A 77-year-old DeFuniak Springs man and a 65-year-old Bonifay woman were pronounced dead.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 77-year-old Defuniak Springs man driving a pickup truck was traveling east when he began to veer into the westbound lane and collided head-on with another truck.
The impact caused the initial truck to flip, rotate, and end up on its tires in a ditch.
The second truck also rotated but ended up colliding with the front of an SUV. The SUV was then sent off the roadway and the vehicle’s left side collided with a tree.
Both drivers of the vehicles a 77-year-old DeFuniak Springs man and 65 year old Bonifay woman were pronounced dead.
The passenger of the second truck sustained critical injuries, while the driver of the SUV was seriously injured.
