FHP searching for driver who fatally struck teen bicyclist in Hillsborough hit-and-run

A hit-and-run driver who left a teen bicyclist dead is wanted by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, a driver in an 2011-2014 model red Dodge Charger with silver rim was traveling eastbound on SR-674.

Just west of 4th Street, the driver collided with a 19-year-old Guatemalan person on a bike, who was also traveling eastbound on SR-674.

Troopers said the driver fled the scene, leaving behind portions of the front of their vehicle.

The teen bicyclist was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call *347 or Crime Stoppers at **8477.
