FHP seeking driver who hit, killed man on Ocoee Apopka Road

Florida Highway Patrol is trying to find the driver they say was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that hit and killed a pedestrian on Ocoee Apopka Road Saturday night.

According to FHP, a 2020 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck traveling southbound on Ocoee Apopka Road south of Demastus Lane hit a pedestrian who was lying in the roadway. Witnesses told FHP that the truck fled the scene.

The 25-year-old Ocoee man hit by the truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ocoee Police Department located a Toyota Tacoma in the area matching the description and with damage consistent with the crash. That truck has been towed for processing.

FHP is seeking the driver of the truck and is treating this as a criminal investigation.

Anybody with information about the crash is being asked to call FHP at 407-737-2213 or CrimeLine at 1-800-423-8477.
