FHP: SR-520 reopens following fatal crash involving semi-truck

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened on State Road 520 in Christmas.

The crash happened around 5 p.m. Tuesday in the eastbound lanes of SR-520 near SR-528.

Troopers said the crash involved a 2023 Toyota Corolla and a 2019 Semi-truck with a trailer.

FHP said the driver of the Corolla was transported to the hospital and was pronounced dead.

The 61-year-old truck driver was not injured and remained at the scene.

At last report, FHP had not released details on the cause the crash, which caused roadblock on the eastbound lanes of SR-520 and the SR-528 eastbound exit ramp.
