FHP: Teen flown to trauma center after collision on electric bike in Escambia County

A 17-year-old Pensacola teen was seriously injured in a collision while on his electric motorized bicycle in Escambia County on Friday afternoon.

According to Florida troopers, the teen was within the northbound bicycle lane, going southbound on US-29.

FHP says a 52-year-old Pensacola woman driving a Lincoln was exiting a private driveway about to turn north, when she stopped at the edge of the travel lane.

Trooper say the woman did not see the teen “traveling against the flow of traffic.” They say he hit the right front corner of her Lincoln.

She was not hurt from the incident. But the teen had to be flown by Life Flight to a nearby trauma center.

No further details were released.
