A Gibsonton home went up in flames Thursday evening, leaving residents displaced, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
Fire officials said crews responded to the fire, which was located off of New York St., at around 7:15 p.m. A 911 caller originally said it was an outside fire, but an additional caller said it had spread to the home.
Once firefighters arrived at the scene, they found flames rapidly spreading through the home.
Firefighters immediately started working to extinguish the flames and prevented them from spreading to nearby homes, according to HCFR. The fire was brought under control within 40 minutes.
Crews said all the residents evacuated from the home safely before they arrived. No injuries were reported.
The American Red Cross was contacted to help the displaced residents.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by HCFR’s Fire Marshal’s Office.
