Fire destroys home in northeast Ocala

Local authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in northeast Ocala on Thursday.

Marion County Fire Rescue units responded to reports of a residential structure fire near the intersection of NE 19th Court and NE 61st Street on Thursday, November 7, at around 3:10 p.m.

According to a statement issued by MCFR, multiple 911 callers reported the home to be fully involved in flames.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene around five minutes after the fire was reported and established a command, deploying hose lines and observing that the structure was fully involved.

The fire was eventually contained and brought under control by 3:22 p.m.

No injuries were reported to any residents or firefighters who responded to the scene.

The cause and the origin of the fire remain under active investigation, according to MCFR.
