On Wednesday morning, South Walton Fire District responded to a residential structure fire in Santa Rosa Beach.

Around 6:30 a.m., SWFD dispatchers said they received a call about smoke and flames coming from a home on Casa Grande Lane. When firefighters arrived they discovered heavy fire and smoke coming from a large two-story home.

SWFD officials said the majority of the fire was in the front of the home, which was considered a carriage house structure attached to the primary residence.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. The carriage house suffered heavy damage.

According to authorities, the SWFD Fire Marshal and State Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire most likely originated around the carriage house’s garage area, the specific cause has not been determined.
