Firefighters are on the scene of a fire that sparked at a Cape Coral home along SW 20th Place Saturday afternoon.

Gulf Coast News crews said multiple Cape Coral fire crews were at the scene and saw damage in the garage.

According to Cape Coral Fire Department battalion chief Christopher Moore, the occupants stated they left the house and when they came back, there was smoke coming out of the garage.

“Crews were really efficient on the fire attack,” Moore said. “Went through the house, came through the garage and contained the fire into the garage area.”

Moore said firefighters were also able to save four cats out of the house.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
