Firefighters put out residential fire in Gainesville, no injuries reported

No one is injured after firefighters put out a residential fire in Gainesville early Thursday morning.

According to Alachua County Fire Rescue, crews from ACFR, Gainesville Fire Rescue, and the Windsor Fire Department responded to a residential fire off of Southeast 35th Street in the unincorporated area of Alachua County off of Southeast Hawthorne Road just before 2 a.m.

Firefighters say a vehicle in the garage caught on fire. Units were able to prevent the fire from spreading and kept the fire contained to the garage of the residence.

Both residents were able to escape the home without any injuries.

The Alachua County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
