Firefighters put out small fire at Florida Department of Transportation building in Gainesville

Firefighters put out a building fire in Gainesville early Monday morning.

According to Alachua County Fire Rescue, a small fire broke out in the storage room of the Florida Department of Transportation building just before 5:30 a.m.

Crews say the sprinkler system quickly extinguished the fire.

Gainesville Fire Rescue also assisted them at the scene.

No one was hurt or inside the building at the time.

State Fire Marshalls are investigating.
