Firefighters rescue construction worker who fell into wastewater tank in Marion County

Marion County Fire Rescue crews saved a worker after he fell from a ladder into a wastewater tank being built.

MCFR officials say around noon on Tuesday a construction worker fell at the new wastewater facility under construction at Southwest 80th Street Road.

When rescue crews arrived, they found the worker at the bottom of an empty tank. Paramedics went into the tank to tend to the man while firefighters rigged a basket for a hoist mission.

Crews successfully lifted the man out of the tank and took him to a nearby hospital. He is expected to fully recover.
