Flames engulf three large boats at North Palm Beach marina

Three large boats were engulfed by a fire in North Palm Beach on Thursday night.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) stated that the fire ignited in the 100 block of Marina Boulevard in North Palm Beach around 11 p.m.

The report stated that the main body of the fire was coming from inside a 48-foot-long catamaran. The fire also extended to the outside of the cabin, filling the outside area of the boat with heavy flames and smoke.

Officials said that the fire then spread to two other large single-hull sailboats.

PBCFR said that they collaborated with North Palm Beach Fire Rescue to bring the fire under control by 3 a.m. utilizing 20 units.

The report notes that firefighters used multiple hand lines with an elevated stream from a ladder to fight the flames.

According to officials, one person was evaluated on the scene for injuries, however, no one was hospitalized.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
