he Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a pedestrian was struck, and killed, in Marco Island on Saturday.

The Marco Island Police Department said the accident happened on San Marco Road, near Primrose Court.

San Marco Rd. was closed in both directions for several hours to allow troopers to investigate.

FHP is handling the investigation.

The identity of the victim has not been shared at this time.
