Fort Myers police investigate after speeding driver crashes near Midpoint Bridge

Fort Myers police are investigating a crash after a driver was speeding and lost control just before the Midpoint Bridge Friday morning.

A knocked down light pole and a mangled gate right in front of the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens is the result of the crash.

FMPD says the driver lost control of a Camaro after speeding on wet roads.

Police say the driver was going westbound on Colonial Boulevard.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash. Police also say there has not been an arrest made at this time.

The roads are back open as Florida Power & Light is working on the poles and lines.
