A person was rescued by a good Samaritan after they had fallen off a boat on Thursday.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR) says at around 6:10 p.m., crews responded to Bryant Park boat ramp in Lake Worth Beach where they found a person waiting by a boat ramp. There rescue crews learned that the person had been brought to the ramp by the Good Samaritan on a jet ski.
The Samaritan explained they had seen the person fall from a boat that was moving at a high speed. That’s when the Samaritan rescued the person on their jet ski, brought them to the ramp, and proceeded to call 911.
PBCFR said the person was stabilized and taken to a local hospital. Around the same time units also responded to Lakeside Palms Court in Lake Worth Beach after a person had called and said they saw an upside-down boat floating in the Intracoastal.
When units arrived, PBCFR says the boat was partially submerged and approximately 500 yards from shore.
A Personal Rescue Watercraft (PRWC) stationed in Lantana was dispatched and searched the overturned boat where no one was located.
It was later found that the person rescued was on the boat, PBCFR said.
The scene was turned over to law enforcement for investigation.
