Interstate 75 in Marion County had heavy traffic this morning after two separate incidents required responses from emergency personnel, with one incident shutting down northbound lanes temporarily.
According to Fl511.com, a vehicle caught fire on I-75 north, near the ramp from State Road 326 at around 6:54 a.m. on Monday, October 7. As crews extinguished the fire, lanes were temporarily closed.
As a result, traffic reportedly backed up to mile marker 354 for approximately 30 minutes.
As emergency personnel responded to the incident, the right lane was blocked.
A separate incident that took place in the northbound lanes beyond mile marker 356 was reported at 7:09 a.m. No information has been made available about the crash.
As of 7:45 a.m., traffic is moving northbound once again, but is slow around mile marker 357.
