An 11-year-old has been hospitalized after getting hit by a car in Hernando County, troopers said.
The Florida Highway Patrol said at 3:39 p.m., the girl had just gotten off a school bus and was walking north along Eskimo Curlew Road north of Osprey Avenue.
The child was on an “unpaved and unmarked road edge” when a 65-year-old Brooksville woman hit the girl with her Toyota Corolla.
According to troopers, the child suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
The FHP did not release the names of the parties involved or announce any charges as of this report.
