A 20-year-old man from West Palm Beach lost control of his car while traveling at high speeds, leaving one of his passengers dead and another seriously injured.

The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) stated that on Sunday at around 8 a.m., a driver was traveling at a high speed in a Dodge Charger along Military Trail in West Palm Beach with three passengers.

The crash report notes that the driver lost control of the car, and it began to drift, which caused it to swerve off the road and hit a power pole.

PBSO reported that the car’s impact on the pole caused it to rotate violently around the pole, and the front-seat passenger was ejected from the car.

The21-year-old man sitting in the front seat was pronounced dead on scene by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

Officials stated that one other 18-year-old passenger was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center with severe injuries, and the driver was also sent there with minor injuries.
