Hit-and-run driver wanted for critically injuring bicyclist in Collier County crash

Officials are looking for a driver accused of crashing into a bicyclist, leaving them seriously injured along Weber Boulevard North in Collier County on Saturday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6:25 p.m. near Fifth Avenue NW.

A 39-year-old Naples woman was riding her bike when a car crashed into her.

She was thrown off the bicycle and critically injured. The woman was taken to a local hospital.

FHP said the driver fled the scene.

The vehicle is possibly a newer model Mazda CX 9.

Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or Crimestoppers.
