Hollywood man, 72, accused of beating woman with guitar

A Hollywood man is facing a felony charge after repeatedly hitting a woman with a guitar during a domestic incident, according to court documents obtained by Local 10 News on Monday.

The attack happened at around 7:45 p.m. last Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Hollywood Police Department.

The victim told investigators that Henry Michael Palm, 72, admitted to “hitting her a couple (of) times” with the black-and-white bass guitar, claiming the victim had been “drinking all day” and “tried to kill him with a knife,” police said.

Police said they found the knife, however, they said they believed that Palm was the “primary aggressor.”

They said the woman was “in shock and hysterical” after what happened and she told police that Palm had also punched her multiple times before hitting her over the head with the guitar, the report states.

Police said the woman was bleeding profusely and had multiple lacerations to her face and head. They said Palm had bruised knuckles and officers found the blood-stained guitar in the kitchen.

Authorities arrested Palm on felony charges of aggravated battery causing bodily harm and battery on a person over 65; a Broward judge later found no probable cause to charge Palm with the latter offense.

Court records show he was released from jail on a $10,000 bond.
