A Holt woman is in the Okaloosa County jail, accused of hitting a Florida Highway Patrol trooper and leaving the scene.
35-year-old L F is charged with hit ‘n run: failing to remain on the scene of a crash involving injury.
Investigators said f was westbound on Interstate 10 around 6:00 Monday night.
For some reason, her SUV drifted off the side of the road and sideswiped a state trooper’s car.
Trooper R K was conducting a traffic stop and was walking back to his patrol car at the time. He saw the vehicle coming toward him and tried to get out of the way.
The SUV hit K, but fortunately, he suffered only minor injuries. His k-9 dog “Taz” was in the patrol car. “Taz” was not hurt. Authorities say F fled the scene. They were able to locate her and arrest her.
She’s being held without bond in the Okaloosa County jail.
