Firefighters say a home in Southwest Gainesville is a total loss after the building caught fire Thursday evening.
Alachua County Fire Rescue crews say the fire began at a home on Southwest 57th Road around 5:30 p.m. and quickly engulfed the building.
With the assistance of Gainesville Fire Rescue, firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to nearby structures.
No one was hurt in the fire. The cause remains under investigation.
