Inverness man dies after crashing into falling tree during Hurricane Milton

 An Inverness man was killed in a crash early Thursday morning as Hurricane Milton moved past the region.

The man was driving east on East Parsons Point Road, east of North Tomberlin Point, when the crash occurred, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

At 1:30 a.m., the man’s Ford Taurus collided with a falling tree. The 46-year-old died at the site of the crash.
