A man was hospitalized Sunday morning after being shot in the abdomen during a dispute that took place in Jacksonville’s Phoenix area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Around 1 a.m., JSO Sergeant Scott says officers responded to the 1100 block of East 15th Street in reference to the man who was shot.
When officers arrived, Scott says they found the man injured, as he was then taken to a local hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
The man was involved in the dispute with the suspect, according to the sheriff’s office.
“The suspect fled the scene,” Scott said in a statement. “We believe this to be an isolated incident.”
