JSO: Man in critical condition after being shot during argument in Westside neighborhood

A man is in critical condition Thursday after he was shot during an argument, which happened in a neighborhood on Jacksonville’s Westside Wednesday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO’s Sergeant Dishman says at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers were sent to the 8500 block of Nussbaum Drive in reference to the man reported shot.

Upon arrival, officers found the man who is in his early-40s, suffering from a single gunshot wound, according to Dishman. He was then taken to a local hospital.

JSO said the argument was “among known individuals,” and that all parties involved in the incident are detained and speaking with detectives about what happened.
