Lehigh Acres firefighters had to battle a fire that ignited in a kitchen at a home along Broad Street N.
According to the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District, the resident evacuated the home with a pet.
The homeowner told NBC2 that she was cooking a burger in her air fryer when the fire started around 8 p.m. She said she tried to put a towel on the fire, but that didn’t work and it started growing.
That’s when she said she called 9-1-1.
As of 11 p.m., Lehigh Acres Fire crews were still at the home and conducting an inspection.
