A fire at a Palm Bay home was “intensified” by several large lithium-ion batteries stored in the garage, according to fire rescue officials.
Firefighters responded to the blaze last week and found the home with heavy fire and smoke.
“The challenging fire conditions, coupled with extremely long hose lays for water supply, made this incident difficult from the outset,” Palm Bay Fire Rescue wrote on Monday in a Facebook post.
Fire rescue said along with the lithium-ion batteries, there were also dozens of smaller batteries found in the garage that “intensified the fire.”
No injuries were reported.
