Lauderhill police search for gunman after 16-year-old boy injured in shooting

 Officers from the Lauderhill Police Department are searching for a shooter after they say a 16-year-old boy was shot and taken to the hospital.

It happened along the 5500 block of Northwest 27th Court in Lauderhill at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Neighbors said they heard at least two gunshots.

Investigators are working to determine what led to the shooting, but they say the boy was walking when gunfire erupted.

Authorities said they found him at the scene and first responders took him to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment.

The boy is in stable condition and has non-life threatening injuries, Lauderhill police confirmed Monday morning.
