Lee County deputy injured in serious crash along I-75 in Estero

A deputy was injured in a crash early Sunday while helping with traffic control along I-75 near Exit 123 in Estero.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were assisting the Florida Highway Patrol with traffic control on I-75 when the crash occurred.

A deputy suffered minor injuries from the crash, but is expected to be okay, LCSO said.

The driver involved was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

LCSO says the crash is currently under investigation.
